Artist's Comments

(Sorry for the oddness of it, my camera is a touch weird)

My current fave piece in my experimental art book. This image is a mixture of water colours and water soaked with tea-leaves.

It's Robin, my galah-like Archaeopteryx.
I'm really tempted to draw a pterosaur right now, thanks to the recent journals published on them.

This is absolutely fantastic... just wow.. I've always wanted to try my hand at watercolour again and be good at it... but it just seems so daunting when I see so many awesome watercolour pieces. This is no exception. It has a raw beauty. Also, using teabags to colour it too... very cool. The textures you've put in with the inking are very cool. You are awesome.

-flattered giggles-

I rarely watercolour, this was the 3rd experiment in it. What seems to work for this picture was after I sketched in pencil, I set down watered down colour for the base. I then did the lineart with a...."unipin fine line 0.5".
The next day I used less watered down of the same colours carefully for the "shaded" areas...very minimal shading of course.

My next intended traditional experiments in the book are markers, but I think I shall try this type of watercolour again. I find layering easier to understand because it's similar to how I occasionally colour on photoshop.

Learning experience all around!
It's also fun to be messy ;p
