"It suddenly struck me that that tiny pea, pretty and blue, was the Earth. I put up my thumb and shut one eye, and my thumb blotted out the planet Earth. I didn't feel like a giant. I felt very, very small." -Neil Armstrong
I rarely watercolour, this was the 3rd experiment in it. What seems to work for this picture was after I sketched in pencil, I set down watered down colour for the base. I then did the lineart with a...."unipin fine line 0.5".
The next day I used less watered down of the same colours carefully for the "shaded" areas...very minimal shading of course.
My next intended traditional experiments in the book are markers, but I think I shall try this type of watercolour again. I find layering easier to understand because it's similar to how I occasionally colour on photoshop.
Learning experience all around!
It's also fun to be messy
